Key Features of a Magazine Cover

Key Features of a Magazine Cover

I found this image using google images and edited it by labelling the features around the image

Masthead:
The title of the Magazine, it allows buyers to see what magazine they're buying but is not the main aspect of the front page.

Coverlines:

The coverlines are to tell you what this issue of the magazine will contain and will be  smaller versions of the subheadings.

Subheadings:The subheadings are a teaser as to what else will be in the magazine so the reader will want to buy it.

Essential Data:The essential data (the date, issue number, price and website) are all to inform the reader of basic details of the magazine, the smallest font on the cover.

Main Image:
The image is the first thing the reader will notice, it takes up most of the cover, it informs the reader what the main focus of this issue of the magazine will be and is used as the main selling point.

  1. Molly, you have identified the key features of a magazine cover, and have defined each of these, as well as touching on their purpose.
